Steam has had great success with various indie games, rising to the top. However, we’ve learned that REPO has edged out the competition to be the best-selling Steam game in 2025 so far, and it was roundly congratulated at Summer Game Fest 2025.
Summer Game Fest 2025 kicked off by acknowledging indie games. In a show largely dominated by AAA titles and the blockbuster side of the game industry, it was a testament to Geoff Keighley to shout out the ‘smaller’ games smashing it. The pick of the bunch, though, has to be REPO.
REPO Has Sold Over 13 Million Copies in 2025 on Steam

REPO was an overnight sensation, quickly amassing huge player numbers. Its momentum didn’t stop, and this led to overloaded servers, and people wanting it on consoles and other platforms.
This hasn’t stopped the game from selling over 13 million units and continuing to sell. It’s not the most expensive game in the world, granted, but it can still take a lot for someone to invest their money in a relatively unknown entity.
Keighley also gave a special mention to Schedule 1, which has also boasted staggering concurrent in recent weeks. These placements are all the more incredible when they’re up against huge games such as Split Fiction, Oblivion Remastered, and Monster Hunter Wilds.
