A TV adaptation of Atomfall is officially in the works, with Two Brothers Pictures attached to produce the series.
Developed by Rebellion, Atomfall is a post-apocalyptic adventure set in the British Lake District. The game follows a protagonist suffering from amnesia as they navigate a mysterious Quarantine Zone in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster.
More On The Atomfall Series
The news was broken exclusively by Deadline, as they revealed that the show will be co-produced by Two Brothers and Rebellion. Harry and Jack Williams, Emmy and Golden Globe-winning writer-producers, will write the series.
Speaking on the adaptation, the pair highlighted the game’s distinctly British identity and atmospheric setting, noting how exciting it has been to expand its unsettling world for television—particularly as two brothers collaborating with another pair of brothers.
Rebellion founders Jason Kingsley and Chris Kingsley will serve as executive producers. The duo praised the writers’ passion for the source material, revealing that they were impressed by their personal experiences with the game and their own interpretations of its ending.
The project is in its earliest stages of development, as there’s no suggestion of casting details or series length, let alone a potential release window for the show. Even so, Atomfall joins an ever-growing list of video game adaptations, with the likes of God of War and Tomb Raider also in production.
