Sony is reportedly developing a portable version of its next-gen PlayStation 6 (PS6), but it won’t doesn’t look like it will be a true “next-gen” experience for players.
According to KeplerL2 on NeoGaf—the same user who claimed that Sony is working on two SoCs for the PS6—the portable version of the new console won’t be as powerful as the current-gen PlayStation 5 (PS5). In a reply to a question about the handheld system, Kepler claims that it’s “a 15w SoC on 3nm”.

While it’s possible the final version of the device won’t be just 15w, knowing that the SoC sits at that TDP gives an idea as to what to expect. For comparison purposes, the Steam Deck TDP is 15w, but can be lowered to improve battery life. The PS5 has a 200W TDP.
Sony has yet to confirm the existence of a PS6 portable console. Until Insider Gaming can independently verify the information or it becomes official, please take the claims with a grain of salt.
