Police Clear League of Legends Pro Milkyway of Match-Fixing Allegations

Chinese jungler Cai ‘Milkyway’ Zi-Jun could return to League of Legends esports after police cleared him of any wrongdoing following match-fixing allegations made against the 21-year-old.

While playing for Royal Never Give Up at the 2024 Demacia Cup, leaked images alleged that Milkyway had leaked drafts and the team’s strategies to external parties who were betting on champion picks during the tournament.

When these allegations came out, FunPlus Phoenix, the team Milkway was then playing for, suspended him while investigations were ongoing.

Now, the jungler has posted a statement on Weibo, announcing that an investigation by the Luonan police station in Shanghai found a lack of evidence of match-fixing abilities.

Milkyway Clears His Name

The LPL in China has had issues with match-fixing in the past. Just last week, LPL jungler Naiyou was permanently banned from LoL esports for match-fixing after intentionally losing games in the Split 1 Playoffs.

It had been claimed that Milkyway had been handed a similar ban, though the LPL never released an official statement.

Milkyway has protested his innocence, announcing the police decision by stating:

“After the police investigation and judgment and multi-party transcripts to support, the screenshot of the so-called ‘leaking picks and bans’ and other chat records released by Weibo user ‘Canyon Kkz’ on August 11, 2025, was found to be completely invalid.

“The truth is that I didn’t participate in any match-fixing and PB leaks. In the past, unwarranted suspicions and online abuse have left me suffering. Fortunately, the truth will not be hidden forever.

“Here, I sincerely thank the police for their rigorous and impartial investigation, and finally returned me a clean sheet.”

Milkyway also threatened legal action against anyone who participated in spreading the misinformation and revealed he plans to return to pro play by telling his fans, “I will see you in the Stadium.”
