It appears that Sony is lifting various purchase restrictions for a number of its first-party PlayStation games that have made its way to Steam.
A quick search on SteamDB (h/t to MP1st for initially spotting) shows that a number of PlayStation games have received updates in recent days. Those updates, for the most part, seem to remove purchase restrictions for dozens of countries around the world.
For example, for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered saw its restriction lifted on June 13 for more than 100 countries. The same goes for God of War Ragnarök, Helldivers 2, and Stellar Blade.

Of course, some countries are still unable to purchase the games, including Russia, North Korea, Belarus and others. There are also some titles like Until Dawn and Spider-Man 2 where heavy purchase restrictions still exist as of publishing.
Sony and PlayStation have yet to comment publicly on any of these changes. Whether it’s going to continue to happen for more games or just select titles remains to be seen. Insider Gaming has reached out to PlayStation for clarification on these changes. Should a response be received it will be added to this story.
