Physint Gets Promising Update From Hideo Kojima, PlayStation

Physint has finally gotten a new update thanks to director Hideo Kojima and PlayStation at Beyond the Strand.

Marking the Metal Gear creator’s return to action espionage, Physint is a brand new IP from Kojima Productions. Revealed last year during a January State of Play, the game is PlayStation’s third title collaboration with Hideo Kojima. Following Death Stranding, it will bolster a movie-like quality with cast, music, and cinematography. It is also being done in a Columbia Pictures soundstage, bringing the Hollywood aspect out more than ever. Thankfully, at today’s Beyond the Strand presentation, we’ve gotten some new information on the highly anticipated project.

Physint Is Still in Concept Stage, Casting Announced

As seen above, Hideo Kojima was a bit hesitant on what Physint will be. He said he is still working on the concepts, like casting and visuals. Then, in a video from PlayStation boss Herman Hulst, he expressed excitement for the title, but said we may not see anything for quite a while. Still, Kojima did show off concept art, like a poster starring the protagonist, though his face is not seen. Casting was also announced, bringing in Furiosa: A Mad Max Story’s Charlee Fraser, Train to Busan’s Don Lee, and Godzilla: Minus One’s Minami Hamabe. However, the protagonist was not cast, though Kojima is hopeful it will be soon.

Kojima is no stranger to the action-espionage genre. In fact, he could be considered the Godfather of it thanks to his influential work on the Metal Gear series. Titles like Snake Eater and The Phantom Pain blew players away with film-like realism and intense combat. While the series is looking to reboot despite Kojima’s split for Konami in 2015, Physint may be the answer fans have been waiting for.
