We got some new information and gameplay for OD, the next project from Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions.
The title, also known as Overdose, was revealed back in 2022 during an Xbox Developer Direct. Unlike Death Stranding, OD is planned to be an Xbox-exclusive game. The game would continue having a star-studded cast, including IT: Chapter One’s Sophia Lillis and Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer. Furthermore, Academy Award-nominated horror director Jordan Peele joined onto the project as a writer and collaborator. While not much was known, Hideo Kojima, the game’s director, emphasized that the game would be a new form of media. Fortunately, during today’s Beyond the Strand showcase, we now know a bit more about his plans.
OD Shows Off First-Person Horror Gameplay
In the video above, we see some hyper-realistic graphics of a woman, played by Sophia Lillis, navigating her apartment. Among constant knocking, she lights a variety of candles. As we can see, it doesn’t exactly work out, as she is caught by a mysterious figure. At the end of the trailer, we see the title, OD: Knock, alongside the game’s cast. We also get a bit more information on OD and that it will apparently be a few different projects. Kojima is doing OD: Knock while Jordan Peele will do another one, though no information was revealed about that.
Kojima is no stranger to horror, though it will be the first time it’s been fully released. His most well-known work, P.T., later known as Silent Hills, was canceled when Kojima was let go from Konami. The playable demo scared millions of players and remains one of the scariest titles in gaming. Hopefully, OD: Knock will live up to the hype.
