Nintendo Direct Set For July, It’s Claimed

Nintendo is reportedly set to host a Direct in July, where it will reveal some of its 2025 roadmap.

Mario Kart World was the launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, Donkey Kong Bananza launches in July, and Metroid Prime 4 is scheduled to release in 2025. Besides those three titles, Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about upcoming first-party games. After skipping out on Summer Game Fest at the start of June, fans assumed Nintendo would host its own press conference.

There have been a few murmurs about a Direct coming soon, and those rumors have intensified.

“This is a spoiler warning as the leak revealed potential new games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. If you don’t want to know about any of the rumored games before the official Direct, do not read any further.”

July Nintendo Direct Explained

Wood Hawker is known for his YouTube channel BeatEmUps, which regularly posts Nintendo-related content. Hawker also hosts a weekly podcast called Nontendo, and he revealed some Nintendo Direct news during the latest episode on June 20.

Around an hour and 18 minutes into the podcast, Hawker claimed, “There’s going to be a Nintendo Direct next month.”

When asked how he knew, Hawker said that he couldn’t reveal his source.

“We are going to get GameCube shadow-drops. I heard Pokémon Colosseum is going to be one,” Hawker said. “Not Gale XD, that’s coming later. They are doing one at a time.”

Additionally, Hawker revealed that Metaphor: ReFantazio, Death Stranding Director’s Cut, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are coming to Switch 2.

“I don’t know if it’s coming before Donkey Kong or after Donkey Kong, but it’s to refresh everybody with what’s coming out for the rest of the year. Included in that is Metroid’s release date, and then, as far as I’m aware, the one more thing is just supposed to be a teaser card. I heard Isabelle is going to show up and it’s going to tease Animal Crossing coming out in 2026.”

For reference, Donkey Kong Bananza releases on July 17. Hawker reiterated that he didn’t know how much of what he had been told was true and was skeptical, but he wouldn’t be shocked if it’s true.
