NBA The Run Gets Gameplay Trailer And Release Window

Play by Play Studios has released the first gameplay trailer for NBA The Run with a June 2026 release window.

Back in October 2025, we received the first glimpse of NBA The Run, with the developers taking players back to fast-paced, online 3v3 street basketball. We learned about some features of the game, such as Rollback Netcode, Low-Latency, Cross-Platform Play, and Knockout Tournaments, and now developers have provided some more details.

NBA The Run Gameplay Modes and Other Features Revealed

A new PlayStation blog post provides players with the first gameplay trailer for NBA The Run, a June 2026 release window, and an overview of some features. Starting with Knockout Tournaments, players will enter a four-round tournament that takes them to iconic street basketball courts around the world. It features short games with randomized rules to keep the players thinking.

In The Zone (Ultimate)

In The Zone is a new momentum-based system that will provide players with access to signature abilities based on their performance. It has been described as something like an “ultimate” attack in a hero shooter. The abilities can differ between offensive and defensive capabilities, and this will be your real trump card in NBA The Run.

Shop – Cosmetics and Rookie NBA All Stars

NBA The Run gameplay features also include a shop, where you can spend the in-game currency Cred by winning matches. Cred can be used to unlock cosmetics like jerseys, advanced dunks, taunts, badges, and banners. The shop also features Rookie Variants that everyone will be eyeing, including Steph Curry in ‘09, Kevin Durant on the Super Sonics, and more, with 5 rookie NBA all-stars available to acquire.

Streetball Legends

Another way to level up in NBA The Run is by ranking up your own streetball legends. These characters can be the best in some areas, but also have similar weaknesses. The developers have announced that Bobbito Garcia will also be a playable legend in the game.

NBA The Run Game Modes

The new blog post with the gameplay trailer also reveals other NBA The Run game modes, which include a “Shootaround mode for practice, and Knockout Friends, a private tournament mode that lets you play alone against AI, with friends against AI, or head-to-head against anyone you want to invite in (up to 48 players at launch).”

Lastly, coming to the new gameplay trailer, Play by Play Studios has chosen the flashy route. Players get to see a variety of different dribbles, flames coming off characters, a variety of alley oops, handles, 3-pointers, and a whole bunch of dunks. The trailer manages to build a lot of hype for NBA The Run’s June 2026 release, and you can check it out below:
