Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Worldbuilder Trailer sets the mode in Hajin, a radioactive tripoint region hiding military weapons facilities.
This is the first major look at the new extraction game mode coming to the next Call of Duty title. First revealed in May, Activision has kept details about the mode close to the vest. However, it was teased that the mode would receive a big reveal this week.
Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Sets Up a Hunt for Hidden Weapons

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ Worldbuilder Trailer shows operators entering Hajin to stop North Korean forces from securing chemical, biological, and nuclear arms. You are told the mission is off the books, and you’ll have to gather whatever resources you need in the field before the trailer’s narrator says that, while the enemies hunt for weapons, you hunt them.
The trailer description also encourages players to explore the world, uncover more lore, and find what is still waiting to be discovered.
Previous reveals have shared that this map spans three countries: South Korea, North Korea, and Russia, and features a dynamic, living world with an evolving weather system, a hideout, crafting mechanics, and roving factions.
For players who focus on PvP, the mode features an intuitive new bounty system. Players who kill others without provocation will build a reputation as Rogues, and as the bounty system escalates, a player will become wanted, leading others to buy intelligence that can point to their location and allow them to be hunted down.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is slated to release on October 23 for the Sony PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Insider Gaming will continue to monitor all things MW4 and report any updates as more information becomes available.
