Marvel Rivals Upcoming Esports Competition Features a Prize Pool Worth Over $3 Million

Marvel Rivals has just announced Marvel Rivals Ignite, a new esports competition set to launch next month, offering a $3 million prize pool.

Marvel Rivals Ignite Announced with $1 Million Reserved for Grand Finals

The official Marvel Rivals account announced Ignite through an X post (formerly Twitter) today. The tournament begins in May and will be held in five regions: the Americas, EMEA, China, Asia, and Oceania. As mentioned above, Marvel Rivals Ignite features a staggering prize pool of $3 million, with $1 million reserved for the Grand Finals of the esports competition. One team has to rise above all to be titled the ‘Champion’ of the competition. More information will be revealed at a later date.

Marvel Rivals’ first esports competition was the Invitational, which attracted numerous big organisations, had substantial viewership numbers and had a prize pool of $100,000. Now, they are going even bigger, and with such a massive prize pool, the title will surely attract some of the most prominent esports organisations across the globe, along with even higher viewership thanks to the scale of the event.

During an interview at the start of 2025, the Marvel Rivals game director stated that they have been looking at esports “on a broader scale, looking at the picture as a whole.” The developer aims to have competitive and casual players coexist in the community.

In other news, Marvel Rivals will buff strategists in the next patch. Additionally, five new heroes have appeared in a recent leak.
