The latest Marvel Rivals update introduces a new game mode, makes a few optimizations, and adds a new spray players can claim for free.
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 started on May 30, and Ultron joined the roster as a new hero. The iconic Avengers villain is a strategist who can fly and heal teammates from the air. NetEase also overhauled the meta by adding new Team-Up Abilities and removing others.
Additionally, several heroes either got buffed or nerfed, changing their pick rate moving forward. If that wasn’t already enough, there is also a new game mode.

Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol Explained
Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol is a new limited-time game mode available in Marvel Rivals from June 6 at 5:00 PM ET to June 23.
The game mode is an auto battler, meaning it features chess-like elements. Players position six different heroes from the roster in specific positions and then watch how their team does against another team.
There are cards to enhance your heroes, like increased health, and players get one of four cards after every round. Some players expected the game mode to be permanent, but it will only be available for a limited time.
How to Claim Tic-Tac-Toe Spray
All players have to do to claim the Tic-Tac-Toe Spray is log in to Marvel Rivals before June 12. NetEase did not reveal what the Spray looks like in-game.

Optimizations
1. Loki’s Illusions can now perform emotes with the real Loki during battle. Mischief, multiplied!
2. Players can now have up to 6 sprays at once on the battlefield.
Fixes
1. Enhanced the Jeff-Nado Team-Up Profile story.
Maps and Modes
1. Fixed certain terrain issues in the Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map where characters could become stuck or clip into strange locations.
