Headlined by a new map and hero, the Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 update has everything fans want and more. Here is everything you need to know about the expected release date and all of the leaks for the upcoming mid-season update.
NetEase struck gold with Marvel Rivals. The hero shooter is one of the most popular multiplayer games available and has a massive player base. In addition, Marvel Rivals reportedly poached 45% of Overwatch 2 players who dropped OW in December 2024.
And the development team has shown no signs of slowing down. Season 2 exceeded expectations with a new hero and map, costume sharing, and massive hero and Team-Up abilities balance changes. That’s not all, as starting in Season 3, there will be a new hero each month. But before looking too far ahead, let’s take a look at everything coming in the mid-season update.
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Leaked Release Date

Marvel Rivals leaker Miller Ross revealed that Season 2.5 will start on May 30.
Based on previous updates, half seasons usually last six to seven weeks. So, May 30 aligns with what we have seen before.
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Possible Start Time
We expect Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 to start around 1 AM PT / 3 AM CT / 4 AM ET / 8 AM GMT.
This is based on the start time for previous seasons, but it is always subject to change due to server maintenance or other unexpected circumstances.
Ultron Leaked as New Hero
Fans initially expected Ultron to be introduced as a new hero in Season 2, but the leak from Ross revealed that the villain’s release was pushed back to the mid-season update instead.
Ultron is an artificial intelligence in a robot body that aims to destroy humanity. The villain has superhuman strength, speed, agility, flight, and energy projection. What makes Ultron so challenging for the Avengers is that there are usually multiple robot clones to deal with.
Since there have been so many character variations over the years, NetEase had plenty of options for choosing abilities. RivalsLeaks revealed Ultron’s full moveset.
| Ability Name | Ability Type | Ability Description |
| Encephalo-Ray | Standard Attack | Unleash a burning energy beam. |
| Algorithm Correction | Passive Ultimate | Hold Space to fall slowly. |
| Dynamic Flight | Ability | Quickly dashes in the direction of movement, then enters free-flight mode. |
| Imperative: Patch | Ability | Commands a giant drone to follow an ally, constantly healing allies within its radius, with additional healing for the designated ally. |
| Imperative: Firewall | Ability | Summons drones to grant bonus health to nearby allies, centered on Ultron and the ally marked with Imperative: Patch. Great for holding objectives. |
| Rage of Ultron | Ultimate | Summons Ultron Drones to fire Encephalo-Rays, which can either damage enemies or heal allies. |
New Convoy Map Arakko Leaked
Miller revealed that Arakko is a new convoy map coming in Season 2.5.
Convoy is an escort game mode in which one team has to capture and escort a vehicle to three checkpoints while the other team attempts to stop it.
In the Marvel universe, Arakko is a sister entity of Krakoa. Both originally formed Okkara, an island in the South Pacific, but a demonic god split the island into two halves.
It’s unclear what fans should expect from Arakko, but it is a walled city surrounded by water.
