Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 adds new Team-Up abilities, while removing and re-balancing others.
In Marvel Rivals, Team-Up abilities incentivize players to choose specific characters because they allow two or more heroes to combine their powers to receive buffs or extra skills. For example, Arcane Order allows Doctor Strange to share his arcane mastery, replacing Scarlet Witch’s Chthonian Burst with Mystic Burst upon activation.
Since Season 0, over 50% of Team-Up Abilities have been changed. In Season 2.5, NetEase goes one step further by adding new abilities and removing a few.
Every new Marvel Rivals Team-Up Ability

NetEase revealed six new Team-Up abilities coming in Season 2.5.
Most notably, the update adds Jeff-Nado after fans suggested the idea and urged the devs to add an ability for both heroes. In addition, Jeff The Land Shark also got another Team-Up with Venom that makes it easier for the Strategist to heal allies.
As a result, Jeff The Landshark should be more viable moving forward.
| Team-Up Ability | Heroes | Effect |
| Symbiote Shenanigans | Venom & Jeff The Land Shark | Venom shares part of his Symbiote with Jeff, which lets Jeff wield Symbiote tendrils to link with allies and heal them. |
| Microchip | The Punisher & Black Widow | The Punisher has retooled Black Widow’s Red Room Rifle with a new firing mode. Now, she can unleash a piercing pulse beam that cuts right through enemies while aiming down sights. |
| Chilling Assault | Luna Snow & Hawkeye | Luna Snow crafts a specialized ice arrow for Hawkeye. This arrow penetrates through terrain cover, and the further the target, the more damage it does, even stunning foes beyond a certain distance. |
| Rocket Network | Rocket Raccoon & Peni Parker | Rocket engineers an enhanced bionic spider nest for Peni. One that can coexist with her original while also dropping armor packs. Meanwhile, Peni ramps Rocket’s Battle Rebirth Beacon to spawn Cyber Webs, Spider-Drones, and Arachno-Mines. However, the enhanced beacon and the original can’t be active at the same time. |
| Stark Protocol | Iron Man & Ultron | Ultron taps into part of Iron Man’s armored might, gaining the power to fire potent Uni-Beam lasers that pierce everything in their path, damaging enemies while healing teammates. |
| Jeff-Nado | Storm & Jeff The Shark | Storm and Jeff can combine their might when both Ultimate abilities are ready, unleashing the fearsome Jeff-Nado. Storm directs the swirling Jeff-Nado, dealing sustained damage over time before devouring enemies. |
All Removed Marvel Rivals Team-Up Abilities
Season 2.5 removes four Team-Up Abilities. This includes Symbiote Bond, which was easy to use and provided a significant buff to Spider-Man and Peni Parker’s attacks.
Meanwhile, Ammo Overload was also one of the hero shooters’ best abilities because The Punisher got unlimited ammo and faster firing, and that was lethal when The Punisher combined the Team-up with his Ultimate.
| Team-Up Ability | Heroes | Effect |
| Chilling Charisma | Luna Snow & Jeff The Land Shark | Luna Snow infuses ice energy into Namor and Jeff the Land Shark, who then can tap into the ice energy to power up abilities at will. |
| Allied Agents | Hawkeye & Black Widow | Hawkeye can share his Hunter’s Sight with Black Widow, enabling her to catch sight of and damage afterimages of enemies. |
| Ammo Overload | Rocket Raccoon & The Punisher | Rocket Raccoon throws an Ammo Overload device in the target direction. Upon entering the device’s range, The Punisher receives the buffs of Infinite Ammo and Faster Firing. |
| Symbiote Bond | Venom, Peni Parker, & Spider-Man | Venom shares a part of his symbiotes with Spider-Man and Peni Parker, activating their symbiote abilities. Spider-Man and Peni Parker can convert the symbiotes into explosive spikes that inflict harm on nearby enemies and relentlessly drive them back. |
Additional Marvel Rivals Team-Up Ability balancing changes
Iron Man is removed from the Gamma Charge Team-Up. This ability still applies to Namor, so he will summon an extra Gamma Monstro that continuously fires gamma rays at locked-on enemies when he receives the radiation from Hulk. The longer the rays hit, the higher the damage.
The Fantastic Four, The Hulk—Namor pairing, and the Emma Frost, Magneto, and Psylocke Team-Ups are all getting nerfed.
In other gaming news, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows of Awaji DLC is targeting a September release, Battlefield 6 confirmed how the new class system works, and Sony is shutting down the PlayStation Stars loyalty program.
