In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Mafia 3, the developers have released a current-gen update for PS5 and XBOX Series X/S consoles.
Just days ago, players were informed about the PS5 and XBOX ratings for Mafia 2 and 3’s Definitive Editions, and yesterday, we were told by the devs to stay tuned for some special anniversary news for the title. Now, the day has arrived, with massive improvements for Mafia 3 on Steam as well as consoles.
Mafia 3 Gets 60 FPS on Current-Gen Consoles
Mafia 3 developers’ new post on X (formerly Twitter) reveals the improvements to the 2016 title for PS5, XBOX Series X/S, and Steam. The game now offers 60 FPS gameplay on consoles, along with other technical improvements. It includes quality-of-life improvements such as smoother mission progression, improved achievement tracking, and better NPC and companion behavior, along with fixes and improvements to gameplay, visuals, and the UI on PC and consoles.

Players who own a digital copy of Mafia 3: Definitive Edition, Mafia: The Omertà Collection or Mafia: Trilogy bundles, you will be able to access this update at no additional cost. The game also currently features an 80% discount on PlayStation, XBOX, and Steam as part of an ongoing Mafia franchise sale. The developers have also stated that players will not be able to bring their save files from the PlayStation 4 and XBOX One versions to PS5 and XBOX Series X/S.
