Rainbow Six Mobile Being Shut Down By Ubisoft

Ubisoft has decided to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile, a shooter that has been around since 2023. It has transitioned through fifteen multiplayer-focused seasons in the time it has been online, but in a new post on social media, the team revealed it’s now making the ‘difficult decision’ to shut it down forever.

It’ll remain online until January 15, 2027, and after that, it’s sayonara. Any upcoming content plans will still be delivered, but the winding down will start as the year closes out.

‘We Are Proud’

In a post on social media, Ubisoft revealed the imminent closure of Rainbow Six Mobile:

There’s no easy way to put it: we have made the difficult decision to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile. The game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The next season will be released as planned next week.

Since Soft Launch in 2023, you have helped us shape this game and build this vibrant community of players from around the world through 15 seasons. Bringing the Rainbow Six experience to mobile has been an exciting journey, and we are proud of the passion, creativity, and dedication our team has put into the game.

One of the greatest parts of this adventure has been getting to experience it alongside you. We’ve loved seeing the memes, videos, strategies, tournaments, impossible plays, and all the countless moments that happened because you were here.

While we are proud of what this team and community have built together, our team will move on to other long-term strategic projects.

In the coming weeks, we will share more updates so you know exactly what to expect and can prepare for the transition.

Thank you for being part of Rainbow Six Mobile and for everything you have brought to this community. We are truly grateful to everyone who has played our game.

Rainbow Six Mobile was ‘soft-launched’ in 2023 as a free-to-play shooter that built on the success of Rainbow Six Siege, released years before. It allowed users to participate in similar game modes, using Rainbow’s classic Attack vs. Defense operating model and inviting players to pick from a roster of recognized Operators.

At the end of September, a new partnership between Rainbow Six Mobile and the PAYDAY folks emerged, bringing fresh cosmetics into the mobile-based ecosystem. Early in September, the most recent season, Operation Concrete Impact, brought about a new Operator and a fresh game mode for users to enjoy.
