The v36.10 update has been deployed to Fortnite, and if you were wanting to jump into the action only to find the servers are down, you’re probably asking how long is Fortnite downtime—and we’ve got the answer.
Regular downtime is expected in Fortnite, which constantly issues new experiences, updates, and tweaks to game modes, but it can be frustrating if you only have a limited amount of time and want to dive into a game.
The good news is that downtime is never usually too long, except in circumstances were problems are encountered, and we’ve got a breakdown below.
How Long is Fortnite Downtime?

Fortnite’s servers were taken down for Patch v36.10 at 1am PT/3am CT/4am ET/9am BST/6pm AEST, as announced on the Epic Games Status page, which also stated maintenance would take around an hour and a half.
If that estimate is accurate, Fortnite servers should be back up at 2:30am PT/4:30am CT/5:30 am ET/10:30am BST/7:30pm BST. However, the downtime could be longer than that.
On average, Fortnite downtime is usually around two hours, though larger patches, like those for a new season, can take up to four hours. Of course, both of those timings depend on there being no issues.
Should any problems occur, the downtime will be longer. Keep an eye on Fortnite’s social channels for any updates.
What’s in Fortnite’s Patch v36.10?
Fortnite’s v36.10 update is the final patch before Epic Game’s annual summer break, and it’s stacked with new game modes, a new Fortnite Festival season with Bruno Mars, and adjustments to the Battle Royale mode.
The two new modes differ, with Blitz Royale being a limited-time mode (LTM), while LEGO Fortnite Expeditions looks set to be a permanent addition, joining Odyssey and Brick Life.
Blitz Royale will last around a month, with weekly themes of content bringing back Mythic items from previous seasons like Avatar bending abilities, while Expeditions is a four-player co-op mode with progression and class customization.
In UEFN, players will see the launch of the Squid Game collaboration, with a new Reload map, while Fortnite’s Ballistic mode is receiving a new map, weapons, and other tweaks.
A new Fortnite Festival season, of course, means a new Festival Pass, while the standard Battle Pass is also getting expanded with the addition of Super Styles, plus Superman to unlock.
Clearly, there’s more than enough to sink your teeth into in the next month while the developers enjoy a hard-earned break.
