Some players like to know how long a game is to make sure they are getting their money’s worth, and Death Stranding 2 doesn’t disappoint in that category.
Death Stranding 2 doesn’t deviate too much from what made the original game so memorable. Sam Porter Bridges thought he had finally found peace in Mexico, but he is once again forced to do delivery missions to connect the community. This time around, new enemies and weather obstacles get in the way of completing tasks.
Based on the gameplay footage shown at Summer Game Fest, the sequel puts more of an emphasis on combat, and there are also several other new mechanics to learn. Without giving too much away, you can expect a long story, and the game’s length is a testament to that.
How Long Does it Take to Beat Death Stranding 2?

Kojima Productions did not officially confirm how long it will take to beat Death Stranding 2, but we expect it to take around 75 hours.
In comparison, it took around 40 hours to complete the main story in Death Stranding 1. However, completionists could easily sink in 100 hours or more, earning every trophy and achievement.
Our estimate comes from Eurogamer.net, as the publication had the opportunity to play the game for 30 hours, equivalent to approximately 40% of the game’s plot. Based on that pace, it’s safe to assume that the game will take around 75 hours.
It also helps the case that Death Stranding 2 has a file size of 91.476 GB, which is nearly double the 55 GB of the original Death Stranding from 2019.
This doesn’t confirm the story length, but it does support the argument. That being said, you never know with Kojima. The co-composer of Death Stranding 2, Yoann Lemoine, confirmed that Kojima changed the game’s script around the halfway point of the development period.
And it wasn’t because of any issues; Kojima reportedly reworked major plot points because the game testing results were “too good” and players “liked it too much.”
In other Death Stranding 2 news, the game has a limited-edition watch that costs around $1500, and you can clear bosses without needing to beat them, and there is also a limited-edition DualSense controller to celebrate the release.
