Grow A Garden’s Prehistoric event is now in its second week, and there’s even more reason to have plenty of Prehistoric Plants at your disposal due to the upgradable egg machine.
Upgrading the egg machine provides various rewards, including earning additional eggs for each DNA sequence completed and a shorter wait time, so it’s well worth doing all you can to maximize it as soon as possible.
Prehistoric Plants are required for this, though they have other uses too in Grow A Garden and are ranked among the best seeds in the game, so we’ve outlined them all here, including our favorites.
All Prehistoric Plants in Grow A Garden

There are 23 Prehistoric Plants available in Grow A Garden, which can be handed into the dinosaur by the egg machine to upgrade the machine.
Only two can be obtained directly through the Seed Shop, with appearances being extremely rare, while others are obtained through the Ancient Seed Pack, with various odds, or via crafting. The rarest and most valuable of them all, the Dino Blossom, is only obtained through quests.

Best Prehistoric Plants in Grow A Garden
Assessing the best Prehistoric Plants depends on what you’re looking for, as there are different options if you’re looking to upgrade the egg machine, feed your pets, or to earn huge amounts of Sheckles.
If you’re looking to unlock maximum upgrades for the egg machine, the best Prehistoric Plants to use are the Paradise Petal and Horned Dinoshroom. Both plants grow back very quickly, so you should be able to unlock all the rewards in just a few harvests, and you won’t miss out on loads of Sheckles for doing so.
Similarly, Paradise Petals and Horned Dinoshroom are great for feeding pets. They have become my go-to food source for pets, as they’re not overly valuable but provide a huge boost to hunger. A Dinoshroom with a basic mutation, for example, can easily max out a pet’s hunger level.
If you’re after huge amounts of Sheckles, the best choices are the Bone Blossom and Burning Bud. Both are multi-harvest crops, unlike the Boneboo, and the value can stack up majorly with Mutations. As an example of this, I currently have a Bone Blossom valued at over 350m Sheckles.
