On May 6, a new Worms game was suddenly leaked with full screenshots. A gameplay leak was also teased to tantalise long-time Worms fans and potential newcomers, and now this is a reality.
If you’ve been following the news, you might have heard that a new Worms game has possibly leaked in a bizarre way. Well, that leak has gone one step further with several minutes of in-game footage from (what appears to be) an ongoing playtest.
Worms Gameplay Footage Leaks

The same account that randomly leaked the new Worms game out of nowhere has struck again, as promised.
Evil Leeker Man—now going by @EvilLeeker—posted the footage to Streamable, and as the reports suggested, it’s very much a ‘tactics’ game in the same vein as XCOM or the Mario & Rabbids series.
Worms’ movements are limited to certain spaces and actions. You need to strategically use cover to obscure your position, and the maps seem to have interactive objects for more damage, such as exploding barrels.
There are also health and weapon pick-ups, and the worms still quip in that cheeky way the franchise became known for. It’s a new style of gameplay for a Worms game, and it could be the refresh the series needed.
It might be worth keeping an eye on this new leaker account as more Worms details and footage could be imminent.

How does the new Worms game look to you then? Was it time for something new like this? Outside of perhaps a Worms volleyball game, what could the series do to innovate? Let us know through the Insider Gaming Discord.
