Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director has officially confirmed that the entire trilogy will be arriving for Xbox and Switch 2.
Since the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for Xbox and the Switch 2 has been confirmed, players have been wondering whether they will be able to play the next instalments on the new platforms as well. Fortunately for them, the Director has arrived bearing great news, officially confirming the release of FF7 Remake Trilogy on the latest platforms.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Series Expands to Switch 2 and Xbox
Many players thought it was a given that if the first part has arrived, the next two parts will as well on the new platforms. However, an official confirmation puts everybody’s mind at ease. Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi officially confirmed this through a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that FF7 Remake Series will expand to “major platforms moving forward”, which includes PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Hamaguchi added that they have decided to go multiplatform as the team is “committed to making sure players can enjoy each Part in a way that suits their lifestyle.” The Director added that as the release of the final part comes closer, he is “truly grateful that more people will have the opportunity to experience the world we’ve poured our hearts into.”
The Director had previously stated that Part 3 would release on “a wide range of platforms”, but couldn’t promise players anything at the moment. Hamaguchi had indicated that he would try his best to make their games more accessible, and he kept his promise.
Will Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Release at the Same Time on Xbox and Switch 2?

Though players might be satisfied with hearing that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Series is coming to Switch 2 and Xbox, there are still two questions that linger on their minds. Firstly, will the final part of FF7 Remake release simultaneously on Xbox and Switch, alongside its release for PlayStation 5 and PC, or will there be a delay? Secondly, when will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth arrive for both platforms? As for the latter, recent rumours stated that FF7 Rebirth will arrive for Xbox and Switch 2 in 2026.
In other news, players are still wondering whether a Final Fantasy 9 Remake is in the works, after the devs seemingly teased it.
