The Incredible Hulk and Black Panther have officially been revealed as playable characters in the upcoming fighting game, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Their inclusions were part of a new trailer showcasing a newly revealed fighting team in the game. The Fighting Avengers not only features Hulk and Black Panther but also Captain America and Iron Man.
Hulk is voiced by Fred Tatasciore, and Black Panther is voiced by Erica Lutrell. Much like the previously announced team of Peni Parker and the Amazing Guardians, players are teased with more details about the formation of this Avengers iteration as they play through Episode Mode.
The official trailer was released during EVO Japan 2026 in Tokyo. A PlayStation blog post by game producer Takeshi Yamanaka offers more information on these characters’ backstories. For example, it is revealed that this Black Panther is Shuri, who is currently struggling with self-doubt about whether she’s worthy of the mantle. As for the Incredible Hulk, his backstory centers on his being banished to the Savage Land due to his inability to control his power and its impact on his ability to lead the government and S.H.I.E.L.D.

The PlayStation blog also highlights the “Champion,” another new character featured in the trailer.
“One of the Elders of the Universe, Champion has existed since the birth of the universe and travels the cosmos alongside his right-hand showwoman, Promoter. A cosmic conqueror obsessed with hand-to-hand combat, he journeys from planet to planet in search of worthy opponents,” the blog notes.
Also, they’ve announced that Wakanda will be a playable stage in this game.
“Wakanda is a nation located in Africa, blessed with rich natural landscapes while also standing as a global leader in advanced scientific technology.”
The game is slated for release on August 6. It will be playable on PlayStation 5 and PC. Insider Gaming will continue to report the latest updates on the game as the release date nears.
