Mojang has just revealed the imminent future of Minecraft with a no-holds-barred Minecraft Live broadcast. Everything from a new dimension to a deep dive into Minecraft Dungeons 2 was unveiled, along with a new creator initiative, some awesome ice caves, and an update on the new Minecraft World theme park.
There’s plenty to get stuck into, and there’s a huge amount for the average fan to get excited about. Below, I’ve outlined everything you need to know about Minecraft Live 2026 and what was discussed by Mojang, so just scroll down and start soaking it up!
Minecraft Goes Big in 2027
Here’s a run-through of everything revealed at Minecraft Live today, September 26.
Ice Caves Are Coming to Minecraft
Mojang revealed that ice caves are coming to Minecraft, but that when they do arrive, they’ll be considerably rare. Along with the caves themselves, new ice crystals, environmental items, and a fresh mob, the Frozen Zombie, will be added. What’s terrifying is that the Frozen Zombie can freeze you if you take too many hits from it.
The Sift is the New Dimension
The Sift is a new dimension that’s coming in Minecraft Dungeons 2, but next year, it’ll be landing in the core Minecraft experience. It’s the first new dimension to hit the game in almost 15 years, and it’s only the fourth to be introduced ever.
New Sound Effects Packs Are Coming
This was a much smaller part of the showcase, but the team at Mojang revealed incoming sound effects packs that will be available for purchase in the digital store before the year is out. That means you’ll have more ways to customize your experience.
Minecraft World’s New Hotel Has Been Unveiled
Minecraft World, which is coming to the United Kingdom’s Chessington World of Adventures next year, is getting a Minecraft-themed rollercoaster and hotel. The team revealed concept images of the setting during Minecraft Live.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 Looks Amazing
Minecraft Dungeons 2, which comes out on September 29, had an expected deep dive during the Minecraft Live showcase. This game promises to introduce a new dimension that’s going to arrive in Minecraft in 2027, and after it launches, Mojang will keep it updated with some DLC and content drops.
Minecraft Creators Are Getting More Tools
Minecraft’s suite of creators is getting more tools to better customize their content and experiences within the game’s ecosystem. It wasn’t confirmed exactly what this will look like, but it has some thinking that Mojang is preparing to contend with Roblox in the UGC space.
