Gameplay has always been, and always will be, the central discussion in EA FC 27 and any other FC title. We all know EA’s tendency to get fidgety and start tweaking the gameplay, but the community seems to be in unison about FC 27—it’s fine the way it is.
I just want EA FC 27 to avoid the mistakes of its predecessor. FC 26 started out with glorious gameplay, but the vocal minority had a problem with defending, and the devs changed the gameplay very quickly. They continued to tweak until the game was a shadow of itself within weeks. With FC 27, there’s a clear message about the launch gameplay.
‘The Gameplay is Excellent,’ Say EA FC 27 Players
Let’s start with the EA FC 27 subreddit. One post said: ‘The gameplay is excellent—EA, please don’t change anything!’ OP claims that defending is hard, but it’s good that ‘the AI do very little.’
Although the comments on the post point out some faults, namely ‘fidget spinning’ gameplay, where attackers abuse left-stick dribbling. Additionally, worries about the first patch are rampant, with Fun-Ad-5438 adding:
“Dude they do this every year in both the new game and the previous game so people buy it. Wait until the first patch and come back and comment again.”
It’s a huge, ongoing conversation with recent EA FC games about AI. FC 26’s gameplay ended up being hugely AI-assisted, sucking the fun and skill out of the game, but it didn’t start out this way.

Many of the community’s high-profile profiles are in favor of FC 27’s gameplay right now.
@Jake_FutTrading said: ‘I’m just being honest FC 27 has one of the best launches in the past 7 years. Please for the love of God no patch.’
Whereas @FutPoliceLeaks said: ‘FC 27 DEFENDING IS ONE OF THE BEST IN FC/FIFA HISTORY:
-A.I. defending abusers are cooked.
-2nd-man press abusers are cooked.
-Tackling spammers are cooked.
-Bruiser spammers are cooked.
-Great manual interceptions.
You get rewarded for good timing on tackles The level of satisfaction this clip delivers is insane. I love how spamming a button is punished.
DO NOT PATCH IT, EA. LET THEM LEARN HOW TO DEFEND. IT SHOULD BE HARD.’
