September has only been the beginning of what’s shaping up to be a blockbuster end to 2026, with tons of high-profile games releasing practically back-to-back. One title in particular you need to have your eye on is Control Resonant, the sequel that’s been seven years in the making.
Following directly from Control, Resonant is set to be bigger and better in practically every way, despite its shift from a shooter to an Action RPG. Time will tell whether it was worth the risk, as the review embargo date and times have been revealed—check them out below.
When Is The Control Resonant Review Embargo Date?
The review embargo date for Control Resonant ends on Friday, September 18, 2026.
Given that the game releases on September 24, that leaves six days between the review embargoes and when Control Resonant goes live. That said, if you pre-order the game on PlayStation, you can get the game 48 hours earlier on September 22, but that’s still a decent chunk of time between reviews and release.
Given Remedy’s history, expectations are fairly high for Control Resonant, with Alan Wake 2 sitting in the high 80s on Metacritic. Can Remedy keep the ball rolling with Control’s sequel? Time will surely tell, and you don’t need to wait much longer to find out.
Control Resonant Review Embargo Release Times
Control Resonant’s review embargo goes live at 6 AM PT on September 18, 2026.
The news was broken directly by Remedy Entertainment’s Communications Director, Thomas Puha, who shared that reviews will drop at 6 AM PT, with adjusted times around the world.
