It’s a jam-packed September for game releases, but there’s no doubt that Control Resonant is bound to dominate the scene. Seven years after the first title in the franchise, Remedy is back with a sequel that’s taking things to the next level.
Instead of being a third-person shooter, Control Resonant is diving into the realm of action RPGs, with guns being ditched for a slew of melee combat. Pair that with the game’s expanded scope, as it ditches the Oldest House for a sprawling New York City, and this sequel looks set to improve on Control in every way possible.

When Is Control Resonant Coming Out?
There’s not much longer left to wait, as Control Resonant is all set to release on September 24, 2026.
That said, if you were hoping to buy the game with a physical disc, you’ll have to wait a while more, as physical editions were delayed. Instead, they’ll be available for purchase on October 15, 2026.
However, the complications don’t stop there. If you purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition on the PlayStation Store, you’ll be able to gain a 48-hour early access window and play the game on September 22. For fans on PC or XBOX, it’s a slight shame, as it’s exclusive to the PS5, but if you’re desperate to play the game early, that’s where to be.
What Time Does Control Resonant Release?
Official launch times for Control Resonant are yet to be revealed, but judging by SteamDB, the game is set to go live at 7 AM PT on September 24—or September 22 for those with early access.
That makes it an early start for those on the West Coast, giving you all day to sink your teeth into the title, but for everyone elsewhere, the release date begins to shift further and further into the day.
