Insider Gaming sources have revealed that Call of Duty 2023 will have its reveal at the beginning of August.
Although details are still slim on what the reveal entails, it’s understood that the game will be revealed just like some of its recent predecessors by some form of in-game event. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard were both revealed within the original Warzone, whereas Modern Warfare 2 was revealed during a special COD NEXT event.
The current date penciled in for the reveal is August 1st (if nothing changes), which falls on a Tuesday. The news implies that we’re unlikely to see Call of Duty 2023 news at this year’s rumored PlayStation Showcase this month.
It’s still unclear on what exactly Call of Duty 2023 will be named, but it’s been widely reported that the game is essentially a continuation of Modern Warfare 2. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has previously revealed that the game will be developed by Sledgehammer Games.
Several sources have also corroborated Call of Duty 2023’s key dates, which Insider Gaming exclusively revealed in February. These dates include a Beta, campaign early access, and the game’s release date.
Call of Duty 2023 Key Dates
- Beta weekend 1 (PS4/PS5) – October 6, 2023 – October 10, 2023
- Beta weekend 2 (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – October 12, 2023 – October 16, 2023
- Campaign Early Access (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 2, 2023
- Full Release (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 10, 2023
Sources have also revealed that zombies will be coming to Call of Duty 2023 on launch, but what exactly that entails remains to be seen. Previous reports have suggested that zombies will not be traditionally round-based, but instead, be coming to the game in a different mode.
