Best Pokémon Champions Doubles Teams: Doubles Tier List

Pokémon Champions has taken the stage as the platform for competitive play in the franchise moving forward, and while Singles battles are available, Doubles is the best approach as it’s the format widely used in VGC.

Tactical approaches in Singles and Doubles battles in Pokémon Champions vary significantly, with the best Pokémon available for Doubles often not able to shine when on their own, while, on the flip side, some that excel in Singles are not as effective in Doubles.

If you’re looking to build the ultimate Doubles team in Pokémon Champions, Insider Gaming has a breakdown of the best Pokémon with a tier list.

The best Pokémon to use in Doubles battles in Pokémon Champions are Incineroar and Sneasler, who have been a crucial part of VGC since the start of Scarlet and Violet.

The pair maintain their spot at the top of the pile in the switch to Pokémon Champions, with Incineroar being an extremely common choice and pairing well with the likes of Kingambit, who is another solid option. Incineroar fulfils a role as a bulky support, providing great set-up to teammates.

Sneasler, meanwhile, is among the fastest non-Mega Evolution Pokémon in the game, and its Poison Point ability, which poisons an opponent on contact, helps to provide consistent damage.

Other solid options include Sinistcha, Basculegion, Kingambit, and Garchomp, the latter being among the few examples where a Pokémon excels in both Singles and Doubles format.

In the tier list below, we’ve outlined the best Pokémon to use in Doubles battles in Pokémon Champions. Remember, they don’t necessarily transition well to Singles fights!

What Makes a Good Doubles Pokémon in Pokémon Champions?

Strong Pokémon in Doubles format in Pokémon Champions are often those who set up for opponents, rather than sweeping themselves, which is where the likes of Incineroar excel.

Boosting ally Pokémon stats, or reducing the opponents, are good ways to provide an edge in battle, while other moves, like those that inflict status effects or distribute healing, can help when stalling.

Survivability is also important, however, so Pokémon need to be bulky, or have the ability to deal off maximum damage before they disappear. Additionally, those with moves that attack and return the Pokémon to the party, without having to use a switch directly, are excellent approaches.

As ever, though, the team composition is just one part of building a strong team for Doubles, and you won’t get far without a strong Moveset, the right Held Items, and suitable Natures.
