Many AAA games are having their prices raised in line with a shifting market. EA is renowned for prioritizing profit, leading us to make this guide on whether or not Battlefield 6 is free. If it isn’t, we’ve got the latest information on Battlefield 6’s price and whether it’s also fallen victim to price increases.
Battlefield 6 is about as premium and AAA as a game gets. The illustrious series has been through the wringer in recent years, but make no mistake that the Battlefield name still carries an unbearable weight. Battlefield Studios is desperately trying to cater the newest sequel to the audience’s desires as much as possible—hello, Battlefield Labs.
In Battlefield 6, it’s a chance to right some recent wrongs. You and I are just as desperate to see BF6 succeed as EA is. But its success could be determined by its price before we even get to the game.
Is Battlefield 6 Free-to-Play?

Battlefield 6 is not a free-to-play game, and you will have to pay a full price tag to acquire the content.
I feel Delta Force broke boundaries by offering players premium content for free. Battlefield 6 is doing no such thing, and if you want to enjoy BF6’s Campaign, Battle Royale, and Multiplayer maps, there is a price to pay.
How Much is Battlefield 6’s Price?
EA has confirmed that the Battlefield 6 price will remain at $70 and will not fall in line with the recent trend of increasing the RRP of high-profile games.
I’ll say it: EA not raising prices on its games is commendable, as it easily could’ve done so. However, in EA’s July 29 Earnings Call, CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed the company won’t make “Any changes on pricing at this stage.”
He also added: “When you think about everything from free-to-play through to our premium products and deluxe editions, our orientation is always to capture the full spectrum of pricing so that we can serve players in the best way possible and offer them the greatest value.
“We’ll continue to look at opportunities to deliver great value to our players through various pricing schemes over the course of time, but no dramatic changes planned yet.”
The $70 price tag is only for the Standard Edition, by the way. Leaks have suggested multiple Battlefield 6 editions are coming, and they will require some bucks for that extra bang.
Are you pleased to see EA sticking to its guns over BF6’s price? Do you think the company could have toyed with making at least one of its components free to play? Share your thoughts and feedback through the Insider Gaming forum.
