Battlefield 6 fans should be wary of scams, as fraudulent playtest invites are surfacing online.
The hype behind Battlefield 6 has been unreal, thanks to the official reveal and all the leaks that have followed. Most recently, a set of Battlefield 6 maps leaked online. On top of that, the multiplayer reveal for BF6 is scheduled for tomorrow. Scammers are now trying to capitalise on the game’s popularity.
Scam Playtest Invites for Battlefield 6 Have Surfaced on Instagram
Spotted by GamesRadar+, a new post by BFBulletin on X (formerly Twitter) brings players’ attention to these scam playtest invites for Battlefield 6. The post states that these scam ads will pop up randomly while the player is scrolling through Instagram. However, they shouldn’t click this link as it is an “attempt to steal your Steam account.” Players should be wary of any ads that are inviting them to BF6 playtests, and only click on links that come through official channels.
The scam Battlefield 6 playtest invite is designed to confuse the reader into thinking it could be an official invitation. It features Battlefield 6’s logo along with its official key art in the background. There’s a button labelled ‘Join the Playtest’ with a Steam logo, but this link is actually intended to obtain your credentials and potentially compromise your Steam account. “The purpose of the test is to evaluate a limited set of Battlefield 6 features on a wide variety of user configurations, to stress-test server infrastructure and to collect feedback Demolish your environment for a strategic advantage. In a war of tanks, fighter jets, and massive combat arsenals, your squad is the deadliest weapon. This is Battlefield 6.”
