During today’s Summer Game Fest event, a brand new trailer was revealed for the animated series adaptation of the hit social deduction game Among Us.
CBS and Innersloth first announced the series in June 2023 with a small teaser image and just a few details. Early and exclusive information came via a report by Variety.
The official logline for the show reiterates the premise of the game itself. A spaceship crew will have to identify an alien shapeshifting impostor or end up murdered.
Since the initial announcement, the Among Us animated series cast continues to expand with some surprising names. In March 2024, major Hollywood actors like Elijah Wood and Ashley Johnson both joined the cast. Other members of the cast include actors such as Randall Park and Yvette Nicole Brown.
CBS Eye Animation Productions partnered with Among Us developer Innersloth to create the series. So, longtime fans can likely expect the series to maintain the same tone and creative influence of the source material.
Among Us may have some mixed reviews from Metacritic users, but it remains a hit, particularly with large lobbies. In fact, the Among Us IP also released a VR title in 2022. That recently got a port for the PlayStation VR2 in December 2023.
