To make an impact, you need to come out of the blocks flying. This is exactly what Activision and its president, Rob Kostich, have done by declaring that the next Halo will be the best ever. Ever.
If you missed the news, Halo Studios has moved to Activision for its next Halo game. It doesn’t affect Halo, in the sense that more games are coming. It was rumored back in August 2026 that Activision may one day make a Halo game, and now it’s happening, folks. Everyone, stay calm.
Activision “Ready and Excited” For Next Halo Chapter
Through Game File, we’ve learned more about the September 22 Xbox restructuring announcement, continuing Asha Sharma’s July XBOX layoff statement.
Xbox’s Matt Booty’s delivered a new memo to staff, and along with more layoff news, it disclosed details about consolidation within the game development teams. XBOX moved Rare under Activision and Obsidian Entertainment to Bethesda, but also revealed that ‘Activision will also be developing the next Halo title.’

Thanks to Game File, here’s Rob Kostich talking about Activision developing Halo:
“For Halo, our goal is clear: make the greatest Halo game ever, worthy of its universe and legacy, while staying true to what made players love it in the first place. It is a bold ambition, one that this franchise deserves. We have already begun assembling a purpose-built team, unique in capability and talent, ready and excited to deliver this next chapter with the community.”
The gauntlet has officially been laid down! It’s definitely going to pile the pressure on the devs to make an amazing Halo title, but can they really deliver the best ever?
Additionally, we learned from the Halo Campaign Evolved ending that more remakes are probably coming, and along with Activision’s new game, there’s plenty to look forward to.
