[Spoiler] What The Ending of Halo Campaign Evolved Says About The Future

Halo Campaign Evolved’s secret ending sets up the future of the series. Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t finished the game yet.

The highly anticipated remake of the first installment in the Halo series has been released in early access, and players are already diving in. This remake stays true to the original; however, there are significant differences between Campaign Evolved and Combat Evolved, particularly with the ending.

*SPOILER WARNING*

Halo Campaign Evolved Secret Ending Confirms More Halo Remakes

Halo Campaign Evolved features two endings, which can be explored in Insider Gaming’s guide to the game. The first is the standard ending, where players witness Master Chief escaping with Cortana, the destruction of the Halo ring, and 343 Guilty Spark flying by. In the original game, the ending concludes with Master Chief saying, “No, I think we’re just getting started,” as he removes his helmet and the camera pans out to space. Campaign Evolved includes a scene with 343 Guilty Spark, which hints at the possibility of a Halo 2 remake.

However, the legendary ending of Halo: Campaign Evolved outright confirms the Halo 2 Remake. When players complete the game on Legendary Difficulty, they unlock a special cutscene featuring Sgt. Johnson. In this cutscene, Johnson breaks the fourth wall and directly tells players, “See you in the sequel.” This line effectively confirms that more Halo Remakes are in development.
