The expected early 2027 Resident Evil Veronica release window could be pushed back, as reliable leaker Dusk Golem has heard that there’s a “high chance” the game will be delayed.
Resident Evil Veronica gives Code Veronica the delicious coat of fresh paint that Resi fans have been asking for in droves. It was revealed to much acclaim at Summer Game Fest 2026, and while it could still end up being an early winner in 2027, brace yourselves for a potential delay.
Resident Evil Veronica Headed For Fall 2027 Instead?
Popular horror leaker Dusk Golem has many inside scoops, particularly with horror games and Resident Evil, and they have heard from multiple sources that Resident Evil Veronica is facing a delay:
“Oh boy, well I’ve heard it three times from three different people now, so I guess I have potentially bad news to report on Resident Evil Veronica.
There is a high chance it might’ve slipped into a Fall 2027 release. I trust the people I’ve heard this from, I haven’t heard it directly yet myself, so I guess take with some grain of salt if you trust in me trying to share these things to the best of my ability, but I’m coming to believe it’s true.
It also vaguely explains to me why it might’ve skipped TGS, when no other mainline Resident Evil game in history has, if their expectation is becoming it could be at TGS next year
I was aware they were making some late changes to the game, the scope & time to do such were a bit in the air, but if this is true, I am guessing they determined it’d take longer than they’d like & maybe decided to go more ambitious with some changes. This definitely was not their plan from the start, but hey, I do get that video game dev is chaotic. Keep in mind Capcom’s never announced a release date publicly so not an official delay as never promised anything.”
Firstly, it’s important to note some things:
- Dusk Golem HASN’T heard this themself, so there’s more ‘pinch of salt’ than usual with this one.
- Veronica never officially had a release date, so it’s a delay in one sense, but not in another, if you get me?
Interestingly, one user brought up the rumor of Albert Wesker’s voice actor being dropped from the project: ‘I’m sure you can’t really confirm or deny, but is this bc of Wesker’s VA potentially being dropped?’

To which Dusk Golem replied:
“You know, I don’t have a direct answer for that as I don’t really know one way or another, so this is pure speculation on my side. But that’s not a terrible theory.”
Hopefully, the project is not internally delayed, but as long as we get Resident Evil Veronica in some capacity in 2027, all will be well with the world.
