The Blood of Dawnwalker is Receiving a Big Update Next Month

The Blood of Dawnwalker’s director recently discussed a ‘big patch’ that is currently set to arrive in early October.

Rebel Wolves’ new action-RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, was released earlier this month to critical acclaim as well as great fan reception. The title also pushed 1 million units in the first week, and it did all that on a $40 million budget. Now, the developers have revealed the changes coming in the game’s first major update since launch.

Blood of Dawnwalker’s October Update Introduces Easier Difficulty, Combat Changes and More

During an interview with Eurogamer, Blood of Dawnwalker’s director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, discussed all the additions to the game in the October update. First up is a brand-new difficulty option, which will be the new easiest option. The current ‘Story’ difficulty will be changed to something like ‘Demanding’, while the new difficulty will take its place. The new option is for players “who don’t want to experience the combat; they just want to learn the story and go through the game without this gameplay challenge.”

The new update also changes combat targeting. Previously, when players used a stun attack on a crowd, their locked-on target would change. Tomaszkiewicz revealed that this was an intended feature, as when he was testing the game, it made it easier for him to stun some enemies and then proceed to fight others. However, players didn’t like this addition; therefore, the October update will remove target switching.

The third new change in Blood of Dawnwalker’s October update is for running from combat. The devs realized players also run away only after the game was released, and they’ve now provided a temporary fix that lets players ignore the nav mesh to get away. They are currently working on “escaping from combat and running in combat and it will be a big change for people.

That’s all the devs shared about Dawnwalker’s October update at the moment, but Tomaszkiewicz did reiterate, stating, “I think that it will be somewhere in the beginning of October. It will be the big patch which will deliver a lot of upgrades for people.”

Blood of Dawnwalker New Game Plus Being Explored

During the same interview, Tomaszkiewicz confirmed that Rebel Wolves is exploring New Game Plus for Blood of Dawnwalker. However, when talking about new enemies, the director said, “There is a chance, but I don’t want to speak about it yet. We will have the proper beats with our publishing team and if I tell you more, they will kill me.”
