The official announcement of the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s collab has broken a Fortnite record previously held by Dragon Ball Z.
Epic Games‘ annual Fortnitemares event is on the horizon and, following plenty of hints and teases, a huge collab with Five Nights at Freddy’s has been revealed, and it’s clear the community can’t wait for it.
FNAF Breaks Fortnite Record
Fortnite’s post on X announcing the collab, which featured fan-favourite characters and the iconic restaurant that is home to the deadly machines, caused quite a stir on social media, garnering over 18 million impressions and over 312,000 likes.
As reported by ShiinaBR, this is a record figure for the franchise, breaking past the record previously held by Dragon Ball Z, which stood at 283,000.
Smashing that tally by close to 30,000 is a huge deal, particularly as the Dragon Ball franchise has a much longer history than Five Nights at Freddy’s, but it shows how long the community has been waiting for this collab.
When tallied with other websites, including YouTube, the total number of likes for the FNAF collab reveal is over half a million, and it’s clear it’s going to be a big money-maker for Epic Games.
It hasn’t been fully revealed yet exactly what the collab will include, and which of the beloved characters will come as skins to the Item Shop, but the trailer did reveal a pair of Kicks themed around Freddy Fazbear.
The key art reveal also included a teaser stating that “The Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale,” with players set to “face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night.”
