The worst-kept secret is out: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is coming out in 2026. This is amazing news for long-time AC fans, but it comes with a caveat if you love the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2.
Everything we’ve seen of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is incredible. Ubisoft has done a great job making a 13-year-old game look brand new. It’s coming to all major platforms and consoles, except for either of Nintendo‘s main hardware, sadly.
Nintendo Switch Missing Out On Black Flag Resynced Pirate Party

It’s time for a sad sea shanty, as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will not be releasing on the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 on July 9, 2026.
The Ubisoft store listing for the game clearly states the platforms, and none of the Switch devices are included.
It’s unclear if this is a hardware issue and the Switch 2 not being able to run the game, which would be odd as AC Shadows runs and plays on the Switch 2, or if it’s something else.
This is speculation on my part, but a future Switch 2 port shouldn’t be ruled out.
Practically all Assassin’s Creed games have eventually launched on the Switch and Switch 2, so don’t go keelhauling yourself over this disappointment just yet!
