New story details have been revealed for Invincible VS, showcasing an original story unique to the game, from the same team behind the show.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the first two characters for the Year 1 Character Pass have also been revealed, as Universa and The Immortal will be the first to join the base roster.
Invincible VS Offers A Unique Story
Until now, news regarding the game’s story mode had been scarce. Focus had been on the gameplay itself, which features 3v3 tag fighting and incredibly gory combat.
Well, the first trailer for the campaign has now been shared online, and it teases an entirely unique story separate from the show and comics. It’s clear that it will revolve around the Viltrumites invading Earth, with the heroes from across the planet desperate to stop them.
At the centre of the conflict is Omni Man, who appears dead set on conquering Earth with his Viltrumite companions—a clear departure from the show’s narrative. Expect Conquest and Anissa to face off against Bulletproof and Rex Splode, as uneven as those matchups might sound!
Once you’re done with the campaign and have mastered the base roster of 18 characters, you can look forward to new arrivals with the Character Pass. Arriving this Summer will be both Universa and The Immortal, with two more set to arrive before the year closes: one in the Fall, and the other in Winter.
Considering that it explicitly mentions Year One Character Pass, it should be safe to assume that more Passes will arrive in the future. With a character line-up as vast as Invincible’s, it’s fair to say they could add new fighters for years to come. Check out the trailer for yourself down below.
