Star Fox’s Fox McCloud Confirmed for Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Corneria will be represented in the Mario Galaxy movie, as Fox McCloud is on a new poster for the film.

Nintendo’s cinematic universe is expanding in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, releasing in less than one week. Previous trailers have not only confirmed Yoshi, Wart, Birdo, Mouser, and other longtime Mario side characters, but also included other Nintendo IPs.

The inclusion of Pikmin has been confirmed, and another staple Nintendo character has now been confirmed for the movie: Star Fox’s Fox McCloud is indeed in the movie and featured on a new poster.

There was previous speculation that Fox was in the film, as eagle-eyed fans spotted would look to be his gun holster in past trailers. Now, it’s known that at least the leader of the Cornerian Army will be canon in the Mario movie universe. It’s not known whether Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare, and Falco Lombardi, the rest of his team, will be joining him.

Shigeru Miyamoto’s Properties Are All Hitting the Big Screen

Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary creator of Mario and Donkey Kong, saw his main creations hit the big screen with the 2023 Super Mario Bros movie. The Legend of Zelda, another Miyamoto creation, is getting a live-action movie release in 2027.

Now that Pikmin and Star Fox are featured in films, it appears the legendary Nintendo producer is seeing all his projects hit the big screen after decades of dominating the video game space.

Major Mario Characters Still Not Confirmed for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

While characters from Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario World, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Odyssey have all been confirmed for the upcoming movie, there are still major Mario characters that have yet to be featured on the big screen. Namely, Wario, WaLuigi, and Daisy are not yet confirmed for this movie.

At one point, Wario was listed as a major villain in a synopsis for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but he has yet to appear. Daisy was the main princess in the Super Mario Land games, but her home of Sarasaland has yet to be confirmed.

In any case, the upcoming movie appears to be packed with easter eggs and characters that are short to delight many long-term Nintendo fans. Insider Gaming will continue to report on any announcements for the movie ahead of its release.

  • Makes sense space. But they sold Zelda film rights to Sony so that’s weird. They better not ruin Kirby if he shows up, the Mother/EarthBound kids, Little Mac, Ice Climbers, Captain Rainbow, Samus seems likely at this point too. could Red show up? I feel they won’t use Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Astral Chain, Kid Icarus, or any of those. Anime would have been better.
