Capcom has released sales figures for Resident Evil Requiem, stating that the game has already sold over 6 million copies, making it the fastest-selling game in the series.
In the new press release released on March 16, Capcom said that the game exceeded the 6 million mark, up from 5 million units sold in its first 5 days.
As part of the press release, Capcom also announced that the Resident Evil series will soon reach its 30th anniversary. It was said in the press release:
“In addition, the Resident Evil series will celebrate its 30th anniversary on March 22, 2026. Capcom is readying various plans for this anniversary to delight series fans, such as a collaboration between Universal Studios Japan and Resident Evil Requiem in 2026, and orchestral concerts in Japan, the US, and Europe.”
The publisher and developer also announced that post-launch content for the game is also in development. They said,
“Going forward, Capcom plans to implement several measures, such as ongoing support and additional game content, so players can continue to enjoy the title longer.”
As of the time of writing, Resident Evil Requiem is the second-highest-rated game by user score on Metacritic at 9.4, just behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at a 9.5.

Monster Hunter Wilds sold 8 million in 3 days and 10 million in a month yet was considered an underperformance and that did not release on Switch 2 like this so Capcom has higher expectations for this my guess.
