Limited Run Games has announced that Marvel MaXimum Collection will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 27, 2026.
The announcement for Marvel MaXimum Collection came at IGN Fan Fest 2026 last month, where the developers revealed that it will bring several classic 8-bit and 16-bit games to players, along with features that make these titles more playable on current-generation consoles and systems.
Marvel MaXimum Collection Releases in March 2026
A new post on the official Limited Run Games X account (formerly Twitter) reveals that the Marvel MaXimum Collection will be released digitally first on March 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM EDT. Players can start placing pre-orders for the physical edition of the title on the same day and continue until May 24, 2026. The collection includes 13 iconic titles across consoles and handheld releases, and players can learn more about them below:
About Marvel MaXimum Collection
First up is X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade), which now supports full online multiplayer for 6 players, with a rollback netcode. Next up is Captain America and The Avengers, which has an Arcade, MEGA, and 8-bit version. Then we have Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage, which has a SUPER and a MEGA edition; the former features rich colors, while the latter has a gritty vibe.
Then we have Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety, which also has a SUPER and MEGA version. The penultimate title is Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge, which has SUPER, MEGA, Portable, and Gear editions. Last but not least is Silver Surfer, which only has an 8-bit version.
Marvel MaXimum Collection New Features
Coming to the MaXimum features that make the games more playable on current gen, the X-Men: The Arcade Game’s support for full online multiplayer for 6 players and rollback netcode has already been mentioned. Players also get a feature called Archive that lets them check out high-resolution scans of original box art, instructional manuals, and advertisements. There’s a music player that lets you listen to scores for every version of every game.
Marvel MaXimum Collection also comes with an integrated cheat menu that enables features like Infinite Lives and more in select games. Players also get features like Rewind and Save States. Lastly, there are various display options.
