Nintendo Switch 2 Gets Blue Prince Today With Mouse Controls

Blue Prince is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, and you won’t even have to wait long. The game drops later today.

This was the final announcement from the recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase on March 3, and it stated that the game will support mouse controls on the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con 2. The game was a critically acclaimed smash hit of 2025.

The puzzle game, which encourages players to take notes and track their steps on their way to finding the elusive Room 46, currently sits at 92 on Metacritic and is finally coming to a Nintendo platform after missing the original Switch in April 2025, when the game launched.

Blue Prince Has Received High Praise from Other Creators

Not only do critics and players love Blue Prince, but other creators also do as well. Just a day after the game launched, Balatro creator and developer LocalThunk praised the game as one of the best he’d ever played. Balatro had a similar trajectory in 2024, taking over many game-of-the-year conversations.

It hasn’t been all love, however. The game’s creator had to come out and speak about the alleged use of generative AI in the game. The team fully denied any GenAI involvement. Read their full statement here.
