During the Call of Duty NEXT showcase, pro players and content creators got their hands on this year’s Call of Duty title, exploring several maps, modes, and a plethora of weapons. One weapon in particular, tied to a killstreak, turned heads on account of it being a literal wallhack weapon that offers a staggering advantage over the enemy team.
It will be counterable via certain perks and takes a fair bit of effort to unlock, but that hasn’t stopped fans from taking to social media to lambast the weapon and label it overpowered as all hell.
The Gravemaker Will Find You Wherever You Hide
In a clip that surfaced from Call of Duty NEXT, the Call of Duty League’s Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr was seen using The Gravemaker, a new killstreak that can see through multiple solid surfaces and kill enemies with a single shot. It’s an impressive thing that bends the rules of technology, and with nine shots in the reward, it’s capable of taking out an entire team without skipping a beat.
Here’s the clip of Simp using The Gravemaker:
As you can see in the clip above, all you need to do is point and pull the trigger, which might sound obvious, but it doesn’t matter what’s in your way. The Gravemaker can punch through any solid surface, picking out enemies through walls thanks to a ‘wallhack mechanic’ that’s scary close to mimicking some of the most popular Call of Duty cheats on the market.
It’s one of the new killstreaks being introduced in this year’s Call of Duty title, which drops in just over a month. It’s fairly obvious that some perks, such as Cold Blooded, might be able to counter this killstreak by removing you from the optic’s ‘thermal vision’ filter, but who knows?
In one comment, a fan pointed out, ‘This shows COD isn’t listening. BO6 had the recon wall hacks at the beginning, which got nerfed drastically.’ Another stressed, ‘Now you can’t tell if you got killed by a hacker or not.’ While a third user expressed a more positive sentiment: ‘Adding fun to the game, I can’t complain. Not everything needs to be balanced and fair.’
