Black Ops 7 is set to offer a feature not seen since 2018, with Weapon Prestige mechanics being added to the game and offering players more ways to customize and level up their weapons than ever before. It was revealed during the recent COD NEXT showcase that each weapon will have two Prestige levels to climb through, followed by the Weapon Prestige Master category.
As players follow the path, they’ll unlock unique camos and weapon-changing attachments that are only obtainable by working through these routes. There will also be more Mastery Camos than ever before, with 16 being unlockable via multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, and for the first time, campaign.
Campaign Now Has Unique Camo Rewards in Black Ops 7
In a series first, it was confirmed that unique Mastery Camos will be unlockable via the Black Ops 7 campaign, a fully co-operative experience that offers a globetrotting adventure in a near-future setting.
In a blog post on the Call of Duty site, the Weapon Prestige mechanics were explored at length.
Every weapon will have two Weapon Prestige routes that run from level 1 to 50, and then Weapon Prestige Master will open up. That has 250 levels, and as you climb those ladders, you’ll unlock exclusive rewards.
Every time you enter Weapon Prestige, you’ll unlock a unique attachment that changes how the base weapon functions, and with each new step, you’ll unlock three unique camos per weapon. This list includes fan-favorite remasters from 2012’s Black Ops II.
Here’s a snippet from the blog post:
Black Ops 7 has the most Mastery Camos ever seen in a Call of Duty: 16 total. Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone (in Season 1) will all have Mastery Camos as you’d expect — but for the first time ever, Campaign players will have a Camo journey they can earn through by engaging with Co-Op Campaign Story Missions and Endgame.
Additionally, players will have more access to unlocking Camos than ever in Black Ops 7 via Camo Rewards in Weapon Prestige and in Weekly Challenges and Seasonal Events starting in Season 1.
There’s now a bigger incentive to play this year’s Call of Duty campaign, which is often an element overlooked by players wanting to leap straight into the game’s multiplayer platform.
