Xbox has reported yet another strong quarter as its hardware sales continue to drop.
The news comes from Xbox’s latest quarterly earnings report, where it was said that the overall revenue of Xbox rose by +10% YoY. A majority of that increase in revenue was attributed to its ‘Content and Services’, which grew +13% YoY.
The only number going into the negative was Xbox hardware, which, once again, saw a decline YoY. This time, Xbox hardware declined -22%.
Of note, Microsoft also reported that six of the top-selling games on PlayStation 5 this quarter were games published by Microsoft, which were: Doom, Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, Call of Duty, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Microsoft reported a strong quarter, with $76.4 billion in revenue and a net income of $27.2 billion during Q4. Revenue was reported to be up 18 percent, with net income having increased by 24 percent.
The company’s strong quarter comes following approximately 9000 layoffs at Microsoft in late June to early July, which saw several Xbox projects cancelled and one studio closure.
