Sloclap revealed a roadmap for future Rematch updates and addressed several pressing community concerns, including crossplay and 3v3 or 4v4 Ranked modes.
Within five days of its launch, Rematch sold one million copies, and interest has remained steady since the initial release in June. Sloclap has already released several updates to remove exploits and improve the overall experience.
In addition, the devs outlined a plan to deal with griefing, cheating, and toxic behavior. Although the game is in a much better spot than when it was in beta, fans still want more improvements, and Sloclap hears you loud and clear. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what’s coming down the pipeline.
Rematch July 18 Dev Update Explained

Sloclap posted a blog going over upcoming changes to Rematch. First, a patch will be released during the week of July 21, introducing basic gamepad input remapping, colorblindness options, and bug fixes.
Then, a hotfix is scheduled to be released shortly after that, which improves the netcode. The update specifically fixes goals counting even when a goalkeeper saves a shot, and corrects tackle registration errors that occur when attempting to stop a shooting animation.
Crossplay and player reporting are also finally scheduled to arrive in Rematch in around 6-9 weeks, and there will be a new ranked queue in a “couple of months.”
Sloclap confirmed that mouse and keyboard improvements are at the top of the priority list, and an update is coming soon to introduce mouse sensitivity settings for tap, as well as WASD as a tap aiming input method option.
We see a lot of requests for ranked 3v3 and 4v4,” Sloclap admitted. “We probably will not add two new competitive queues right away, since this can split the player base and have an impact on matchmaking queues, but we are currently estimating the work to be done to release a new one in a couple of months.”
Slocalp also plans to improve ranking matchmaking to reduce queue times, while maintaining team balance, ensuring that teams won’t be too unevenly matched.
