Fortnite’s latest patch is a big one, and the addition of Blitz Royale is one of the biggest features, though you may be asking whether it’s a permanent addition or an LTM.
In the final patch before Epic Games’ annual summer break, Fortnite is going hard with two new game modes, Blitz Royale among them, a Squid Game collab, and updates to plenty of fan-favorite modes.
The Blitz Royale mode is catching the eye, though, offering shorter game length and the return of popular items, and we’ve got all the details on the full schedule.
Is Fortnite Blitz Royale Permanent?

No, Blitz Royale is a limited-time mode (LTM) in Fortnite, Epic Games confirmed, but it could return in the future with fresh content and collabs.
After kicking off on June 18, Blitz Royale will be playable across all devices until August 12. Once that date passes, which is also expected to be when the first patch after Epic Games’ summer break ends, Blitz Royale will no longer be playable.
Given that the mode is themed around the relaunch of Fortnite on mobile devices, with shorter gameplay lengths than other modes, Blitz Royale could return in the future.
If that is the case, expect the weekly schedule to feature more rejuvenations of old collabs, falling back on the vast history of crossovers that Fortnite has enjoyed.
UPDATE 26/06: Fortnite Blitz Royale has been extended to August 12, having previously been set to end July 15.
Full Fortnite Blitz Royale Schedule
Fortnite Blitz Royale will be split into four weeks of gameplay events, each offering a different theme and the return of fan-favorite collabs.
We’ve detailed them all below.
- June 18: Launch Week – New Mythic versions of popular weapons, including the Rocket Ram, in rare Golden Llamas hidden around the map.
- June 24: The Avatar Returns – Pagodas from the Four Nations feature across the map, while every player starts matches with a Bending Scroll from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
- July 1: Bad Bosses – Bending Scrolls are removed and replaced by fan-favorite boss weapons, like Thorne’s Vampiric Blade and a new Blitz Chain of Hades.
- July 8: TMNT Melee Mayhem! – Melee weapons are the name of the game, including the return of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles items, Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists, Mythic Typhoon Blade, and Blitz Kneecapper.
Full details on the additions each week will be revealed with each update, although there may not be full blog posts due to the Epic Games annual break.
