Mindseye Devs Apologize For Performance “Challenges” & Announce Major Changes in New Hotfix

The build-up to Mindseye featured conversations about the game’s reported bugs and glitches. Ultimately, the full launch confirmed many of these fears. However, Build a Rocket Boy is already on the case, promising a significant hotfix.

The Mindseye review embargo was watched like a hawk by many skeptical players. Outlets generally didn’t get review copies, but post-launch, its Metacritic’s user score stands at a measly 3.3. Its developer has apologized and is preparing a hotfix to launch this week, which will address key issues in the game.

The Mindseye X page received a hefty news post on June 11, clarifying the game’s position and reassuring everyone that Build A Robot Boy knows what needs doing.

“Dear Community,

A heartfelt thank you to all our day-one players. We know the launch of MindsEye hasn’t been without its challenges for some of you.

Right now, our top priority is game performance. We understand that the requirements are high and have limited the experience for many of you, and for this, we sincerely apologize.”

Early Mindseye Hotfix Patch Notes

Here’s everything being changed in the soon-to-be-released hotfix:

  • Initial CPU and GPU performance improvements, along with memory optimizations.
  • Reduced difficulty for the CPR mini-game.
  • A new setting to disable or modify Depth of Field.
  • A fix for an issue with missing controls for the MineHunter and Run Dungeon mini-games.
  • Pop-up warnings for PCs that have Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling disabled, and PCs with CPUs that have potential crash issues.

If you’re wondering when the hotfix will be released, it’s: “Scheduled for the end of this week on PC, which will also roll out to consoles as soon as possible.”

The doom and gloom surrounding Mindseye continues, though, as the devs have decided to cancel sponsored streams amid the issues.
