Street Fighter 6 has sold over 5 million copies, Capcom has announced. That number is likely to go higher with the game now available on the new Nintendo Switch 2 system.
“Street Fighter 6 has now sold over 5 million copies!” a post on social media said. “What a way to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! Thanks to all our fans out there around the world and to all the prospective fans in the future!”
At 5 million copies, Street Fighter 6 is the third-best-selling game in franchise history. Street Fighter 5, which released in 2016, sits at number one with 7.8 million copies sold. In between in second place is 1992’s Street Fighter 2 at 6.3 million.

For comparisons sake, Street Fighter II has been out for 33 years while Street Fighter 5 has been out for nine. Street Fighter 6 has reached 5 million copies in just two. It is worth mentioning, however, that Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES sold 4.1 million copies. There were also multiple other versions of the game released over the years that added new fighters to the mix.
Moving back to Street Fighter 6, it’s continuing to get regular updates and new fighters for players. During Summer Game Fest 2025, Year 3 DLC was officially revealed with Sagat coming in the summer, C. Viper in the fall, Alex in early spring 2026, and Ingrid in late spring 2026.
