Warzone Ranked Bug Fix Mistakenly Puts Players in Top 250

Activision released an update to fix an issue that caused players to start Season 4 lower than intended in Warzone Ranked Play, but it ended up breaking the leaderboard.

Bugs and miscommunication disrupted the launch of Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4. Players noticed that Multiplayer lobbies no longer displayed their levels, and players called out the devs for implementing this measure to prevent players from leaving if the opposition was significantly higher ranked.

Adding insult to injury, players also noticed that ads were added to the loadout screen, promoting cosmetic bundles. Activision claimed that hiding levels was a bug and argued that adding ads was an error, but some community members didn’t buy it. Issues continue to plague Season 4, as now, Ranked Players have been unfairly rewarded.

Warzone Ranked Players Mistakenly Get Free SR

Call of Duty insider, CharlieIntel, reported, “Warzone Ranked Play got an update today to fix an issue where players were at a lower rank at the start of Season 04 than intended. But, they straight up have given players the SR difference, up to +5K SR, sending a lot of people into Top 250.”

Skill Rating determines your placement in Warzone Ranked. You earn SR by winning matches and getting eliminations, and lose SR by getting eliminated early. Giving players up to 5,000 SR for free is an issue because it’s unfair to push players out who rightfully earned a spot in the Top 250.

At the end of every season, players earn rewards based on the highest Skill Division they reached, not their current division. As a result, these users will get Top 250 rewards even though they didn’t earn them. Additionally, this makes it that much harder for other players to get into the Top 250 because they have to make up the point difference.
